On a scale from 1 to 10, we are giving the Oral-B Genius 8000 a solid 8.
This electric toothbrush does an amazing job of keeping your teeth and gums clean and healthy, it comes with a lot of different options and extra features that give you a premium experience.
It’s a fairly powerful device that will make you feel like you just walked out of the dental clinic, but of course, it’s not perfect.
We are giving it 8 stars mainly for two reasons, first, the price, it is not the best value for money device, so unless you don’t mind spending a considerable amount of money on an electric toothbrush, this might not be the best option for you.
Second, the smart features are very useful and yet, these are not as well optimized as expected, so if the smart features are something you really want to take advantage of, you could try some other model like the Oral-B iO series 8.

- The device has a sleek and comfortable design that makes it feel solid and easy to hold during a brushing session.
- The handle incorporates visible indicators for the different cleaning modes and connectivity features so you know precisely which setup you selected.
- It comes with a very efficient quad pacer that buzzes every 30 seconds to remind you when you must change to another area of your mouth; and a timer that buzzes twice after 2 minutes of brushing.
- It comes with Bluetooth connectivity and an App that provides some valuable features like sending reminders for you to brush at least twice a day, monitoring your brushing time to let you know if you’ve brushed long enough per session, and providing personalized tips on how to improve your brushing routine based on your brushing habits.
- It comes with a phone holder so you can stick your phone to your mirror, that way the app will use your phone’s camera to provide position detection and track where you’ve already brushed.
- It comes with a pressure sensor and a visible ring light on top of the handle that turns red if you brush too hard, white if you’re brushing too soft, and green if you’re brushing just right. The ring light is pretty convenient, different from other electric toothbrushes where the pressure sensor alert is not as evident and can be missed.
- It comes with five cleaning modes: Daily clean, gum care, sensitive, whitening, and Pro-Clean.
- The toothbrush is compatible with all previous Oral-B brush head replacements.
- Battery life lasts around 14 days on a single charge and it comes with fast charging.
- It comes with a travel case that storages the handle and two brush heads.
Cons
- The position Detection feature isn’t always accurate, and you must put your phone in front of your face so it can track where you’ve brushed, this is very uncomfortable.
- The travel case doesn’t work as a charger.
- It’s an expensive toothbrush, there are better value options available.
