The Oral-B Smart 1500 is probably one of the best electric toothbrushes we have tested, of course, it’s not perfect and has some aspects that while not exactly a problem might be really annoying.
Still, the positive aspects of this device fully compensate for those imperfections, bellow you will find the pros and cons of this product so you can learn everything you need to know before buying it.
Pros
- It has 3 cleaning modes: Regular, sensitive gums, and whitening effect to remove superficial stains (e.g. coffee or wine stains).
- It is a very powerful device and does a great job of giving you a fresh sensation similar to getting a deep cleaning at the dental clinic.
- Battery lasts around 14 days on just one full charge.
- It has a pressure sensor that tells you when you are brushing too hard but in comparison to previous models, we have noticed this sensor is less sensitive, this solves the inconvenience of the sensor getting repetitively and unnecessarily activated.
- It has a timer that buzzes every 30 seconds for you to know when to move to another area and has a primary timer that buzzes when you have reached the minimum 2-minute brushing session.
- It has a very compact design and also uses small brush heads, which makes it easier to use and more comfortable for reaching difficult areas inside the mouth.
- This electric toothbrush offers one of the best value for money.
Cons
- The power button is a little bit difficult to press properly.
- The brush’s handle gets a bit slippery when wet, so it might be uncomfortable to hold.
- The power button also works for changing cleaning modes so you have to press it repeatedly to turn it off, it would be more comfortable to have separate buttons for each action.
- It has no indicators to let you know which cleaning mode is activated.
- Just as usual with Oral-B electric toothbrushes, it makes a little bit of a loud noise when turned on.
- It does not come with a travel case so it might not be appropriate for someone who travels constantly.
