Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000 – Oral Irrigator Review
On a scale from 1 to 10, we are giving the Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000 a solid 9.
The Philips Sonicare Water Flosser 3000 is a solid and reliable device, as expected from a Philips product, and provides amazing results when it comes to keeping your teeth and gums clean and healthy.Â
The fact that is cordless makes it comfortable to use and carry around, yet, we must clarify that this model is a bit bulky, especially compared to other brands’ cordless water flossers, but the bigger size also improves the cleaning efficiency.
This oral irrigator is also a bit more expensive than other cordless water flossers, but we still believe it is worth the price since it’s a high-quality device from a reputable company.
Pros
- The Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 has a good-looking, intuitive design; it has one button to turn it On/Off, one specific button to change the pressure level, and one to switch cleaning modes; there are also visible LED indicators to let you know exactly which setup you selected, as well as a battery life indicator.
- It has a 250 ml (8.4 oz) water tank, which is quite big for a cordless oral irrigator, the water reservoir provides 60 seconds of continuous flossing, so you won’t need to refill the tank in the middle of the session.Â
- The water tank is removable so it is easier to clean, you can also remove it to fill it with water but it is not necessary since there is a small hinged door on the back of the tank.
- The tips of the Sonicare Flosser 3000 can rotate 360 degrees, which simplifies its use from different angles and eases access to some hard-to-reach areas.
- You can choose from 3 different pressure settings, low, medium, and high; we recommend you start with the low one and then increase the pressure as your gums and teeth get used to it, it is also advisable to use lukewarm water since cold water might feel too uncomfortable, especially if you have tooth sensitivity.
- Philips water flosser 3000 has 2 cleaning modes: Clean, and Deep clean; the clean mode provides a continuous flow of water at constant pressure, while the deep clean mode uses pulse wave technology that basically makes small pauses in the water stream and also fluctuates the water pressure along the session.
- It comes with 2 different tips: one standard tip, and one quad stream tip; the quad stream tip provides 4 streams of water simultaneously (Philips calls it an X-shaped stream) and it’s very efficient at removing plaque from a more extensive area in less time.
- It incorporates a 120 seconds timer and a 15 seconds quad pacer to encourage you to floss for the recommended time and help you to know when it’s time to move to another area, this is a very useful tool and most water flossers lack this feature, you still can disable the pacer if you want to.
- The Cordless Water Flosser 3000 comes with a travel bag, where you can put the oral irrigator, plus, there is a “secret compartment” on the base of the handle where you can store one tip, you just have to remove the water tank and you’ll be able to see the secret space, that’s a clever idea to save up space.Â
- It comes with a rechargeable battery and according to Philips, it should last around 14 days on a single charge, BUT, in real life, it outperformed that expectation, lasting around 40-45 days on a single charge when flossing once per day.
Cons
- The handle feels a bit slippery since it’s made of non-textured plastic.
- The travel bag doesn’t provide much protection.
- The water flosser is expensive compared to other brands.
- The replacement tips are expensive as well.
