Waterpik Whitening – Water Flosser Review

On a Scale from 1 to 10, we are giving the Waterpik Whitening a solid 8.

The Waterpik Whitening is a highly efficient device when it comes to removing plaque and debris, very similar to the Waterpik Aquarius, but besides this, it incorporates an infuser technology that provides a whitening effect.

We are giving it 8 stars because the whitening effect is very subtle, yes, it makes your teeth look lighter and brighter, and yes, it removes superficial stains, but its effects are not as notorious as most people probably expect them to be.

That said, we still believe the Waterpik Whitening is a great investment in your oral health.

Pros

  • Waterpik Whitening has been clinically tested and is ADA-accepted (American Dental Association).
  • It comes with 2 modes, floss, and massage; the last one is ideal after you carry out your normal flossing session since it massages your gums to improve blood circulation and keep them healthy.
  • It gives you 10 water pressure setting for you to choose the appropriate intensity for you.
  • The water reservoir has the capacity to provide 90 seconds of continuous flossing.
  • What makes it different from other Waterpik models is that it comes with an infuser technology that allows you to place one whitening tablet on the handle and it slowly and steadily infuses the whitening substance while the water starts to flow, whitening tablets also add a minty taste during the flossing session which is pretty pleasant.
  • It is capable of removing superficial stains like those caused by some foods like chocolate or coffee and gives your teeth a lighter look, you will notice the whitening effect after a few weeks of constant use; Waterpik alleges it can remove up to 25% more stains than brushing according to their clinical studies.
  • Besides the whitening effect, Waterpik also removes plaque from hard-to-reach areas like in between the teeth and under the gum line improving oral health.
  • It has an ergonomic and efficient design with an On/OFF switch on the body unit and also on the handle, making it easy to control.
  • There is a variety of tips for specific purposes like the orthodontic tip or the plaque seeker tip, you can also buy a storage case than includes 6 different tips.
  • It’s an excellent device for people with orthodontic appliances, dental implants, crowns, etc.

Cons

  • It’s a bit noisy, so it might be annoying for noise-sensitive people.
  • The On/Off button on the handle gets stuck sometimes and it’s hard to move so you might need to go directly to the unit button.
  • It’s not a portable device.
