Waterpik Cordless Pearl Water Flosser Review
On a scale from 1 to 10, we are giving the Waterpik Cordless Pearl a solid 7.
The Waterpik Cordless Pearl is a very efficient device when it comes to keeping your teeth and gums plaque-free, it’s intuitive and easy to use, and it also has an affordable price.
Nevertheless, it lacks some innovations of newer Waterpik models, like a waterproof design and more setting options.
Yet, it is still a good device, it provides all the basic functions that it needs to do its job and we are satisfied with its performance and portability.
Pros
- It has a fairly simple design, with an On/Off switch and a switch to change intensities.
- It’s ergonomic and easy to hold, it also incorporates a 360 degrees rotating tip which makes it more comfortable to use and eases access to some hard-to-reach areas.
- Since it’s a cordless device, the water reservoir is part of the handle and can contain 7 oz (198 ml) which will provide a continuous stream of water for around 40 seconds, that’s a decent water tank for a handheld water flosser; plus, the water tank is removable to make it easy to clean and refill.
- It comes with 2 pressure settings: low and high; the low one might be too soft unless you have sensitive gums and teeth, but we still recommend you start with the low one and then level up to the high-pressure setting once your gums get used to it.
- It comes with 4 tips: 2 classic tips, one plaque seeker tip, and one pik pocket tip; the classic tip is enough for most people, but the plaque seeker is really useful if you have orthodontics or some kind of prosthesis, the pik pocket is ideal for people with the periodontal disease since it helps to remove plaque and bacterias from the periodontal pockets.
- Waterpik makes its own clinical research and the Waterpik Cordless Pearl is been clinically tested to be safe and efficient at removing dental plaque, earning the ADA seal of acceptance (American Dental Association).
- Different from other water flossers, the Cordless Pearl is an incredibly quiet device, thanks to the “Quiet flossing technology” developed by Waterpik.
Cons
- It lacks a visual indicator to know when the device is charging or when it’s fully charged.
- It is NOT a waterproof device so you shouldn’t use it in the shower.
- It doesn’t come with a travel case or bag to carry around.
- As with any other cordless water flosser, the water tank is limited and you might need to refill it at least once per flossing session; if you don’t mind using a corded device, we recommend the Waterpik Aquarius as an alternative.
